According to the SQUARE ENIX DLG fan page they have just release Secret of Mana for iPhone iOS. The official website for the game is up at http://dlgames.square-enix.com/som/en/. Nostalgia and amazing gameplay for only $8.99, available at the App Store.

Secret of Mana was originally released in August of 1993 for the SNES. The title was known in Japan as Seiken Densetsu 2 (聖剣伝説, lit. “Holy Sword Legend 2″). Secret of Mana displays a top-down perspective, in which three player characters — the hero, the girl, and the sprite — navigate the terrain and fight off hostile creatures. Control may be passed between each of the characters at any time; if the hero is currently selected, his two companions are controlled via artificial intelligence, and vice-versa.

The story takes place in a fictional world, during an unspecified period following a war between a civilization and god-like beasts concerning the use of mana to fuel the “Mana Fortress”, a flying warship. During this war, a hero used the power of the Mana Sword to destroy the fortress and appease the angered gods, returning peace to the world.

Secret of Mana sold over 1.83 million copies worldwide and has received numerous awards, earning an average review rating of 9/10.

Beat the first boss last night with my newly acquired mana sword. I have decided that it is probably my favorite phone game to date.
The touch controls do not hamper the game play to much since the hit recharge delay mechanic doesn’t make for fast intricate button combos which is less desirable on touch screens.

That is one super flamboyant image lmao!
